Day 2 of the opening weekend of the 2017 Generation Next Basketball Association campaign saw more strong performances from names we know while a few new ones delivered solid efforts and opened some eyes. Here’s a quick look at some who shined on Saturday in Wisconsin…
TOP PERFORMANCES

Anton Brookshire – 2021 – G – Yanders Law Blue
An instinctively skilled young guard with a lot of game on the offensive end, Brookshire makes the game look easy with a quick effortless perimeter stroke and an ability to score off the bounce at the mid-range level and in traffic at the rim. Really like his feel and overall scoring package already and he makes it look easy. One of the breakout performers of the weekend already on multiple levels.
Johnathan Heinen – 2021 – F – Wisconsin Shooters
A long skilled forward who is at his best inside 15 feet, Heinen runs the floor well, he has plus length, and he can finish with his back to the basket, facing the basket, or in transition. Just scratching the surface right now, Heinen has a lot of upside moving forward with hard work and development.
David Joplin – 2021 – F – Ray Allen Select
In a high level matchup early Saturday Joplin was sensational as he came out active and engaged and was completely dominant in the alpha role on the hardwood. He finished at multiple levels, was aggressive on the boards, and overall delivered one of the top performances of the day in a dominant win.
Amir Madyun – 2021 – SF – Net Gain Sports
A strong athletic wing who can finish at every level, Madyun helped power Net Gain to an afternoon win on a variety of transition baskets and finishes off the bounce. His activity in the paint on both ends and his aggressiveness in attacking the rim and staying in the mix on everything was impressive and a huge aspect in his team’s win over Quad City Elite.
Foster Wonders – 2021 – F – Wisconsin Playground Warriors
A skilled forward with the ability to finish at multiple levels, Wonders was solid from the opening tip in an afternoon contest and he set the tone early that the rest of his team followed in a convincing win. A solid instinctive forward with skill and feel, Wonders continued to impress on Saturday.
STOCK BOOSTERS

Jeremiah Dotson – 2021 – F – Wisconsin Shooters
A talented forward with plus length and skill, Dotson continues to develop and Saturday he was solid in his ability to finish in a variety of ways at different levels. He has nice instincts on the glass, moves well on both ends, and he runs the floor well allowing for transition opportunities. Another solid prospect to keep tabs on moving forward.
Michael Foster – 2021 – C – Milwaukee Spartans-Rebels Elite
There’s a lot to like about Foster who drips with potential and upside. A big plus length interior prospect who runs the floor well, has natural shot blocking instincts and feel, and is active and engaged around the glass on both ends, Foster is just getting started and with hard work and development he has scary potential. Saturday he once again showed flashes of his promise and it will be fun to watch his development moving forward.
Kenrick Harrell – 2022 – F – Mac Irvin Fire
A skilled young forward, Harrell was impressive in flashes in a game against Playground Elite. Harrell showed range beyond the arc, activity on both ends, and an ability to finish off the bounce and around the basket. Still developing obviously, Harrell followed up a strong effort Friday with a solid performance in his first game on Saturday.
Ben Nau – 2021 – G – Ray Allen Select
He doesn’t get a lot of attention on a loaded team of young talent but Nau was exceptional at times on Saturday and he continues to really take on a solid leadership role with his team. He handles the ball well and he has excellent vision and timing on his passes making for easy scoring opportunities for his teammates. When needed he can also rip the nets at the mid-range level and beyond the arc with a solid perimeter stroke. Overall he was very impressive at times on Saturday.
Eric Price – 2021 – SF – Quad City Elite
A tough blue collard max effort talent who keeps his team in the game with a variety of things that fill the box score. He is constantly in the attack mode and his aggressive nature on the glass and offensively is contagious across his team and generally elevates the effort and play of the rest.
NEW NAMES TO KNOW

Camden Brown – 2021 – C – UA G3 Grind
A long promising forward who runs the floor well, is active, and contributes on both ends with his rebounding, altering of shots, and finishing around the rim. Still developing physically and skill wise, Brown has been impressive in flashes this past weekend and Saturday he was solid once again.
Jonathon Glenn – 2021 – SG – UA G3 Grind
A wiry guard with range and vision, Glenn was impressive with his perimeter stroke on Friday and he showed much of the same Saturday. What was also impressive was his feel defensively and his playmaking as he delivered some nice passes and created positive chaos defensively. A solid prospect with upside and potential, Glenn continued to open eyes with more solid play on Saturday.
Andrew Redd – 2022 – G/F – Mac Irvin Fire
An interesting talent with length and instincts, Redd was solid in flashes as he knocked some jump shots and was active in spots defensively. He’s still raw and developing but Redd has a lot to like as a young prospect.
Tar’Quaveon Smith – 2021 – G – Illinois Irish Elite
A skilled guard with range and feel, Smith was solid in a winning effort on Saturday as he showed range from beyond the arc, dribble penetration ability, and nice instincts on the offensive end of the court. Still developing physically and skill wise, Smith opened some eyes with quality play at times on Saturday.
Mysean Vaughn – 2022 – G/F – Made Men
An active slashing type wing who creates positive chaos on the defensive end of the court and at times offensively. Vaughn is a solid man to man defender and his instincts put him in a position to make things happen in a variety of ways on that end. Offensively he can finish in transition, he attacks off the bounce, and he gets on the boards and keeps things alive. Like his effort and floor impact on both ends.
