The 2018 Generation Next Tip-Off took place this past weekend at Homestead H.S. (Mequon, WI) with a number of 11U-14U teams taking part in the start of winter event. It was fun seeing all the players get on the courts and have fun playing ball again, but some hoopers stood out above the rest for the level of their play during the tournament. Below you can catch who some of the players were that performed at a high level, as well as some that raised their play during the event.

TOP PERFORMERS
KYLAN BOSWELL – 2023 – G – MIDWEST UNITED ALL-STARS
Boswell finished the tournament with a flurry, scoring from all over the court and was on fire in the final matchup that saw them fall in the championship by a point. Boswell dropped 19 points, hitting 4 three’s in an earlier game Sunday, then a scintillating 25-point output in the title game where he was coming off screens with the ball and pulling up from the perimeter with confidence and a smooth shot, sinking 6 treys.

TAYSHAWN BRIDGES – 2024 – G – MILWAUKEE SPARTANS
Bridges was often the best player on the floor competing with the Spartans. With his length and skills at his age, Bridges often overpowers or plays over the opponent and has a good touch going to the basket with his shot. He finished with some floaters, he knocked down a few triples and had outings of 21 points with 3 three’s and then other games of 12 points and 17 points, all leading to victories for the Spartans.

KYRII BRITTON – 2025 – G – MAC IRVIN FIRE
Britton played with a lot of energy and has good size for his age. With his size and talent, he was able to blow by defenders in the half-court and score inside, he won in transition converting fast break opportunities, and knocked down a couple jumpers as well, going for 15 points one game and 18 in another.

EWELL CLINTON JR. – 2025 – F – MILWAUKEE SPARTANS
Clinton Jr. had a lot of passion in the 12U championship, where he was hustling up the court and making plays at the hoop when getting the pass inside. He showed great touch around the basket and was battling on the boards. He scored 22 points to pace his team to the title game victory, playing with power and energy.

MEKHI COOPER – 2023 – PG – ILLINOIS BLAZE
Cooper had a strong tournament, really taking control of the point guard position and being maybe the top floor general in the tournament. Cooper was active defensively on the ball, getting his hands on a number of steals and then was really good converting turnovers into fast break points for his team. He shelled out 7 assists in a game Saturday while also putting in 8 points with a couple three’s. Sunday in the semi-final he had 9 points with another 3-pointer and shelled out 6 assists and 3 steals. He’s a smooth operator with the ball in his hands.

DUPREE FLETCHER JR. – 2024 – PG – MILWAUKEE SPARTANS
Fletcher Jr. had a few nice games for the Spartans 7th Grade team, really shining when letting it fly from beyond the arc. He was able to convert a few other buckets as well throughout Sunday, but really made his living with the three-point shot, dropping 13 points with 3 triples one game and hitting double-digits again in another with a few more three’s going through the nets.

JAYLIN HARDWICK – 2023 – PG – MILWAUKEE SPARTANS
Hardwick had a strong tournament for the Spartans, making a number of plays with the ball in his hands both for himself and for his teammates. He creates well and is smooth when attacking middle. His pull-up jumper looked good and he also knocked down some shots from the three-point line, putting in 16 points one game and playing solid in others.

RAESHON HARRIS – 2023 – SG – ILLINOIS BLAZE
Harris had a solid tournament shooting the ball. He has a nice release point at his age and when he’s on target he can really fill it up. Harris had 17 points one game hitting shots from various levels in the offense, and then knocked down 9 points in their final game, all three’s in the second half to help give his team a chance at the end.

JONATHAN KINZIGER – 2023 – PG – WI PHENOMS
Kinziger was one of those players that didn’t always have the most points, but made plays all over the court on each end. He was flying around defensively and played gritty, and then on offense he was aggressive and knocked down some tough shots. In the final game, Kinziger had 18 points, knocked down a trio of three’s and was excellent at the free throw line, which he got to often by playing strong and with control.

QUINTON LOMACK – 2023 – G – LA FOLLETTE LANCERS
Lomack had himself a really good tournament, showing off a nice skill-set for his size at his age. He played strong going to the basket and did so with good handle, blowing by defenders at times with a number of nice moves. He also shot the ball well and showed off a perimeter game. He had 12 points with a couple three’s in their final game where they came up just short, by Lomack really made a name for himself with his play.

KAIDEN SPACE – 2023 – SG – MIDWEST UNITED ALL-STARS
Space was excellent throughout the tournament, really making some big plays for his team both on Saturday and Sunday. Saturday evening, Space was smooth with his jumper, scoring 17 points with a mix of nice finishes at the rim and a tough pull-up game that kept the defense on its heels. He had a solid 9-point performance earlier Sunday, and then put up a big 19-point effort later where he also showed he can knock down shots from the three, with a pair of treys.

TYLON TOLLIVER – 2023 – G/F – ILLINOIS BLAZE
Tolliver is a kind of a combo wing who plays with good quickness and good strength. He had a really strong effort on Saturday where he was constantly playing strong at the hoop and finishing with excellent touch. He had 18 points and really set the tone for his team.

CHRISTIAN UREMOVICH – 2024 – F/C – ALL-IN ATHLETICS
Uremovich was outstanding in All-In’s semi-final matchup where they took down a tough team behind his play inside around the hoop. With great length and size, Uremovich showed great touch both at the rim and from the mid-range area at times, sinking a number of shots and lay-ups to finish with 23 points and pacing his team to the victory.

MAC WRECKE – 2023 – F – RAY ALLEN SELECT
Wrecke was awesome in a game earlier Sunday for Ray Allen. Dropping a sweet 20 points, Wrecke was attacking from the wing or the elbow with good balance and control and making plays going strong to the rim. He got to the free throw line a number of times because of his aggressive and controlled play and really took over offensively in their win.

GUS YALDEN – 2023 – F – WI PHENOMS
Yalden was playing like a young man possessed with basketball fever. He made play after play for his team throughout the day, coming up with clutch baskets and really dominating inside, while also hitting shots from the perimeter in an earlier contest. Yalden was aggressive, played pretty strong and was steady at the free throw line as well. He had a 17-point game in the semi’s and then went off for a major 30 points in the championship game.

RISERS
COBY ALLEN – 2023 – G – MIDWEST UNITED ALL-STARS
Allen was another guard for the MUAS squad who had a strong weekend, really playing well throughout the event. He made plays for himself, created for teammates at times and was active around the glass getting rebounds. Allen dropped 15 points one game and was steady in the others as well.

JUAN ALLEN – 2025 – PG – MILWAUKEE SPARTANS
Allen had an excellent championship contest for the Spartans, where he was able to knock down a number of shots for his team. He drained a few jumpers and finished a couple lay-ins to help his team extend their lead and take home the title. He had 15 points in the contest.

NAS BEAMON – 2024 – G/F – MILWAUKEE SPARTANS
Beamon played really strong, making a few shots away from the hoop, but really made his work around the basket, finishing lay-ups and converting some offensive rebounds into points, going for 13 points in their semi-final game.

ELIZJAH MIMIS – 2024 – F – MILWAUKEE SPARTANS
Mimis played steady for the Spartans 13U group throughout the weekend, but had a really strong game earlier Saturday where he nearly recorded a double-double for his team. He flew up the court offensively and was active on the boards like crazy, scoring 12 points and tallied 9 rebounds for his team. 

DOMINIC PITTS – 2023 – G – RAY ALLEN SELECT
Pitts played steady for his RAS team, really making some plays around the perimeter in taking his defender off the dribble and getting to the lane where he used his frame and size to score over smaller guards. He had a really nice and controlled back-down move into the paint where he then turned to score a shot with good touch over the front of the rim. He finished with 11 points and had 3 assists as well.
