The annual NY2LA Sports Generation Next Basketball “GNBA” Championships hit the hardwood earlier this month and a loaded group of 8th grade prospects and teams impressed throughout the weekend. Here’s a quick look at some of the top frontcourt standouts in the 14U age group from the annual middle school platform…
Aleksander Alston 6'5 SF Mac Irvin Fire
Showing a high caliber wing skill set during the GNBA Championships tournament, Alston displayed great versatility and skill. Able to score from all the levels, Alston had some very impressive performances helping lead Mac Irvin Fire to the GNBA Championship title game. Alston has all the physical attributes and skills to develop into an elite caliber prospect in the class nationally.
Xzavion Mitchell 6'7 Phenom University-Team Herro
The most consistent frontcourt scoring presence in the GNBA, Mitchell has continued to produce at a high level all spring. Mitchell has learned how to manage being a team’s primary defensive focus, making quicker decisions, attacking without hesitation more often and he’s been willingly to put the team on his shoulders more. With added strength and development, Mitchell will continue to develop into one the elite prospects in the class nationally.
Sebastian Rudolph 6'6 PF/C The Family
A consistent inside presence on both sides of the ball, Rudolph held it down in the paint for The Family. Playing a major role in The Family capturing the GNBA Championships 14U tournament title, Rudolph defended the post, cleared the glass and finished around the rim at a high rate. The top pure post prospect from the GNBA Championships, Rudolph does what coaches expect from a big in the middle at a high level.
Antonio Munoz 6'5 SF Meanstreets
A athletic,versatile wing prospect, Munoz was one of the most impressive prospects in the GNBA Championships. Helping lead Meanstreets to the semifinals, Munoz does a lot of things well and has a solid overall wing skill set with his ability to score on all the levels and play above the rim. A prospect who is just beginning to scratch the surface of his potential, Munoz has elite upside.
Ian Miletic 6'5 F Mac Irvin Fire
Helping lead Mac Irvin Fire to the GNBA Championship title, Miletic showed great production and potential. A skilled shooter with great height and length, Miletic possesses a great combination of size and skill. Miletic has great upside and has all the tools to develop into a high major front court prospect.
Davion Hannah 6'4 SF Milwaukee Spartans
An athletic slashing wing, Hannah has a great combination of size, skill and athleticism. Hannah was impressive in his games during the GNBA Championships as he was able to create his own shoot off of the dribble and he knocked down shots from behind the arc. With plenty of upside, Hannah has the great potential to develop into a high major prospect.
Aaron Womack 6'3 SF Ray Allen Select
Showing great production and potential during the GNBA Championships, Womack played at a high level for Ray Allen Select. A skilled shooter with good size and athleticism, he has the attributes to grow into a high caliber prospect.
