On the GNBA this spring, one of the most dominant 2027 players tournament after tournament was Donovan Davis. The forward was a prominent reason for all the success of his Grind Elite team, which included a run to the championship game at the 14U level of the GNBA Championships back in June.

“My season with Grind Elite has went very well. We’ve won two tournament championships and we’ve been farther than we ever have. We still have two tournaments left and I feel that we have what it takes to win them both,” Davis said. This 2027 Grind Elite has only continued to improve over the past year as in addition to Davis they have Logan Ramczyk, Will Verkuilen, among others.

For a player that is not even in high school yet, Davis already has a great combination of tools. He already stands at 6’6” with some athleticism and a well-rounded skill set. “A person that can play inside but can also play on the perimeter. I can post up and drive to the basket, but I can also shoot the three ball,” Davis said describing his own game. Throughout the GNBA season, Davis proved to be one of the best post scorers as well to passing the ball very out of the post. His perimeter skills have only continued to greatly grow with his ability to make plays off the dribble.

Following a highly successful middle school career, Davis will be attending Freedom High School (WI) as he moves into the ninth grade. As he transitions into high school there are a couple aspects of his game he is looking to improve. “I want to work on improving my three pointer and make it consistently. I would want to keep playing at a fast pace and get big."
